What we collect

If you write a review: the name and email you enter, your ratings and review text, the date, and your IP address and browser details. Your name and email are never shown publicly and are not given to the agency. Reviews appear as “Verified reviewer”.

If you create an account: your name, email address and password (stored encrypted), and your reviews or agency replies.

If you claim an agency profile: your name, work email, role, and any information you give us to prove you represent the agency.

If you contact us: your email and whatever you include in your message.

Information about agencies: we publish business information about recruitment agencies, such as name, address, sector and website, taken from public sources like Companies House and agencies’ own websites. Where this includes information about an individual (for example, a sole trader’s name), see “Your rights” below.

Technical data: our server records IP addresses and pages requested, to keep the site secure and working.

Who we share it with

  • Microsoft Azure. Hosts the website, on servers in Germany.
  • Google. Google Workspace handles our email. Google Maps shows agency locations: when a page with a map loads, your browser contacts Google, which receives your IP address. Google is based in the USA.
  • Courts, the police or regulators, if the law requires it. This is the only situation in which we might reveal a reviewer’s identity.

Spam checks on reviews run on our own server; your review is not sent to a third party for this.

When data goes to the USA, it is protected by the UK–US Data Bridge, or by the UK’s approved contract terms (International Data Transfer Agreement/Addendum).

How long we keep it

  • Reviews: while the review is published. If a review is removed, we keep the reviewer’s details for up to 12 months in case of complaints or legal claims, then delete them.
  • Accounts: until you delete your account, or after 3 years of inactivity.
  • Messages to us: up to 2 years.
  • Server logs: about 5 weeks.

Cookies

We use only cookies that the site needs to work:

  • Login cookies. These keep you signed in.
  • Session and basket cookies. These remember what you’re doing during your visit.
  • Comment cookies. If you tick the box on the review form, these remember your name and email for next time.

We don’t use analytics or advertising cookies. If that changes, we’ll ask for your consent first.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:

  • give you a copy of your data;
  • correct it;
  • delete it;
  • restrict how we use it;
  • stop using it (you can object to our use based on legitimate interests);
  • send it to you, or to someone else, in a portable format.

Email hello@myrecruiter.co.uk. We’ll reply within one month.

If you’re unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office: ico.org.uk or 0303 123 1113. We’d appreciate the chance to sort it out first.
